P5 Info – 7.12.20

Hi all,

I hope you all got a chance to enjoy the lovely weather today. What a change from the thunderstorms the past two nights!

We will begin to decorate our classroom and atrium this week, and lots of festive activities are beginning, so please note the changes to this week below.

Science with Mrs Cumming will be on Tuesday afternoon this week instead of Monday.

Christmas Cards can be brought in to be posted in the school postbox. Please remember to clearly label the envelope with the child’s name and class.

Christmas Song – P5 will be recording and learning ‘All I want for Christmas is You’ this week. Please find the link below, if you wish to practice it at home.

Pantos – We have two online pantos to watch this year. On Thursday afternoon we will be watching the Brunton Theatre ‘Rapunzel’ performance.

Christmas Celebration –  Children can wear a Christmas jumper this day! We will be watching the Panto ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and having some time outside to play!  Thursday 17th December. Cost £2 (This covers food, prizes and a charity donation).

Loanhead Parish Church – Can you help? Every year Loanhead Parish Church provide support to families in our area. We are collecting toys this Christmas to be delivered to local children. If you can help, please purchase a gift for a child (1 month to 16 years) and please do not wrap it. Hand it in to the school office and we will pass them on. We will be collecting from Monday 30th Novemember to Friday 11th December.

ZOOM Assembly on Friday at 11:30AM.

P.E. – Wednesday afternoon. Please remember to come dressed appropriately as they will be doing P.E.

We still need to keep windows open for ventaliation so children can bring extra hoodies and jumpers to wear in class.

Homework 📝

Reading 📚- Pages to be read will be written in your child’s reading record daily. Please ensure reading is completed every night with an emphasis on expression.

Spelling✏️ – The new spelling list was copied down on Monday morning.

Have a lovely week,

Miss Lauren Waller
