Loanhead Primary School Handbook 2022-2023 (1)

Loanhead Primary School is an inclusive  7 class,  non-denominational Primary school.  The campus also has two Nursery classes (AM and PM).  The School moved to the new community Ramsay Campus in February 2008.

The Ramsay Campus is shared with St. Margarets RC Primary School and various other Community Services including Playmates Playgroup and Loanhead After School Club. The shared facilities include two P.E. halls, an expressive arts hall, dining facilities and a fantastically well equipped playground.

Loanhead Primary School is part of the Lasswade High School cluster and also enjoys close links with the Active Schools co-ordinators.

Our Vision, Values and Aims

At Loanhead Primary School we believe the child is at the centre of all that we do and this is reflected in our Vision, aims and Values.

The aims and values for our school community and everyone in our learning journey:

  • To be a responsible citizen by promoting care through valuing myself, those around me and my wider community
  • By taking responsibility and challenging myself I will become a successful learner.
  • As a confident individual I am enabled to develop my unique potential.
  • To be inclusive by recognising individuality and striving to meet the needs of all.
  • To be an effective contributor through practicing restorative techniques and building positive relationships.

Child Protection

Within the Loanhead School community we absolutely recognise that child protection is the duty of all. Our designated member of staff is Mrs Diane Donnelly and we follow all procedures as directed by Midlothian Council.
