Topic– Fairyland continues…last week, we based our activities on Little Red Riding Hood. Children wrote descriptions of characters, sequenced the story, made stick puppets and this week, will look at simple co-ordinates in map planning. Children also had great fun drawing around Eddie to give them a template to paint for the giant!!

PE Gymnastics on Monday and PE on Thursday.

Thank you,

P3 update!

  • Just a reminder that a parent performance of our Egyptian Assembly will be on Friday 17th at 11:45.
  • We will also have school library that day. So can children please remember their books or they will not be allowed to take out another one.
  • Homework this week will be spelling and personal project (see last post for more info). There will be no reading sent home for most groups as we are still carrying on with our novel study. Please read for enjoyment every night.

Any questions please ask.

P4 Homework 7-3-17

Homework 07/03/17

I must apologise for the lack of homework on the website last week- I totally forgot to put it on!

This Week

The Children have some assessment to undertake in class this week and have been bust revising Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will be very tiring days for them and I expect they will be extra tired after school. Therefore, I have opted not to give any spelling homework out this week and reading to only a few of the groups. I am aware that most of the children don’t get to their homework till later in the week and I would like to take this extra burden from them this week and let them enjoy their clubs and daytrips etc.

Reading Homework

Pink – See bookmark

Orange – See bookmark

Green –  See bookmark

Learnits are also optional this week.

Numeracy- Keep going with your Learnits. If there are any people who need new learnits can you write a note and let me know.

Learnits- The Rules…

The children are asked the question on the learnits card on several occasions and if they answer correctly,  within about two seconds, they can have a tick. Once they have ten ticks they can throw the learnit away. Once the envelope is empty they can have some new learnits. You can keep the envelope at home until it needs refilled.

Don’t feel you have to do all of them at once. A few at a time is sufficient.

Maths

We have been working on Money and Finance in maths over the past few weeks. This week’s task is to help gain an understanding of budgeting and an awareness of costs.

Design your ideal Bedroom

You have an imaginary £800 to spend to design your ideal bedroom.  Write a list of all the items you would buy with your £800. Write the price of each item beside it.  You should use the Internet or shopping catalogues(e.g Next, Argos) to find actual costs. At the end, work out the total amount you have spent and how much you have left from your initial budget.

Optional – You may wish to draw a picture of your dream bedroom showing the items you purchased.
