Dear Parents and Carers,

The children really enjoyed the drumming session with Infectious Grooves on Wednesday, learning about the history of the drums we were using and making polyrhythms.

This week:

Reading – please see reading book for homework.

Spelling – please see spelling jotter for the pattern or sound they are learning.

P.E. is as usual on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.

On Wednesday this week we will probably not have Mandarin but hopefully back to normal next week.

It is Bike to School week this week. Every child who cycles either to or from school or both will be entered into a raffle to win a prize.

Miss Simpson has organised the Smoothie Bike for P5, 6 and 7. The children will get the opportunity to design and make a smoothie using the bike to power the machine.

On Wednesday it is ‘Bling your Bike’ day so get your bikes decorated!

Maths Week Scotland: this week there is a competition on Sumdog for the children to take part in. All children should have their usernames and passwords to be able to use Sumdog at home. This is great to be part of the competition but also to use regularly for general numeracy revision.

Many thanks,

Dear Parents / Carers,

We have had a good start to the term in P5, I am certainly enjoying working with them, it is lovely to see how much they have grown and developed since P1!

A little bit of information for you, as from Monday 23rd August:

Tuesday afternoon P.E
Wednesday afternoon Mandarin
Thursday afternoon P.E.

On Tuesday and Thursday please make sure your child comes to school in clothes suitable for P.E. and with a rain jacket.

Reading books will come home this week, please support them to do their reading every night.

Homework will be given out on a Monday and returned by Friday.

Spelling homework should be worked on every night whenever possible….little and often! This is starting on Monday 23rd August please see their jotter for the word pattern they are learning and information to help them complete the homework and learn the spellings.

Please could you cover their homework jotter with wrapping paper or wallpaper – it protects their jotter and helps them to identify it quickly.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Lisa Cumming

It is lovely to be back and to see all the children after the summer.  We have had a lovely day today.

This is just to give you a quick note to tell you that they have P.E. tomorrow (Thursday 19/08/21) so should come to school dressed for P.E. I did tell the children today but wanted to let you know too.

I will provide more information about homework and P.E. etc. next week.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

P5 Week Beginning 26.4.21

Hi all,

I hope you all had a lovely and restful Easter holiday. What wonderful weather we had!

Below are just a few reminders of what is happening this week. I will also post reminders on Google Classroom too.

Homework

Spelling homework can be found on Google Classroom and should be completed in your child’s green jotter and brought in on Friday.

Reading books should be taken home everyday and returned the next morning so your child can join in with their group. Please help your child have a look for their reading record as it is very important they get a signature from an adult every night to evidence homework completion.

Reminders

We have P.E. with Mrs Duncan on Wednesday so children should come to school dressed in their P.E kit.

P5 are also very lucky to have Miss Sun on Thursday afternoons for Mandarin, and we have our whole school zoom assembly on Friday.

If you need anything then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Miss Lauren Waller
