2. Answer the questions provided.
3. Use a smartphone, tablet or computer to access the internet to find the time in different cities from around the world, then compare this to GMT (UK Time) to workout the answers.

P7 – Welcome Back! Information Week Beg: Monday 17th August

Hello,

Welcome back to school everyone!

I am delighted to be teaching P7 this year, with all the same wonderful pupils!

It has been fantastic over the past few days reconnecting and catching up with all the pupils.

There are a few changes for the upcoming year, which I have highlighted for you below.

Items to bring into school

  • Snack
  • Water bottle
  • Packed lunch.
  • Suitable jacket/warm clothing

These are the only items required, as pencils, colouring pens and pencils are all provided for the pupils in their trays. If they wish to have a pencil case with their own colouring pencils, then that is fine although there is to be no sharing with other pupils for safety reasons.

P.E.

P.E for the week will be in one longer session on Monday afternoons with Mrs Duncan. (This starts on Monday 17th August.)

  • The children should come to school dressed for P.E. outside (e.g. trainers, a warm jumper etc) every Monday and this will be from 12:45pm – 3:15pm. (After Lunch time until the end of day.)

Homework

Starts Monday 24th August

  • This will consist of reading, spelling and a maths/numeracy task.
  • Homework will be sent home on a Monday, to be returned by Friday, if possible.
  • School reading books will be sent home with the pupil, however it is important that children remember to bring it back every day as we won’t be sharing books with each other.

Independent Reading Book

  • I would also ask if pupils can bring a reading book/magazine/comic book from home to keep for reading in school when required. These can be kept in trays.

Where can I find new information for P7?

  • Updates are to be put on the school website for Sunday (starting next weekend) in time for the week ahead.
  • I will also be using Google classroom to set homework when possible. They should still have all the log in details from Home Learning.

Thanks for your support,

Mr. Nelson
