P2 Homework W/B 7.11.16

Homework this week –

Spelling – List 10 ‘ ll’ – can children please complete the written part of their homework in their green jotter; last week, only about half the class did so. If your child practises their spelling elsewhere, on other paper for example, just write me a wee note in their spelling jotter to let me know. Thanks.

Reading – as usual, check green reading bags. We will start to read ‘Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark’ by Jill Tomlinson as a class novel.

Maths – Well done to those who completed our first Sumdog challenge. This week, the Sumdog challenge is called ‘Days, Months and Hands of the Clock’ – 75 coins to collect.

Topic – We say farewell to the topic on Dinosaurs and think about Day/Night and safety in the dark ( links in perfectly with the Owl novel).

Nativity – The P1/2 Nativity performance is scheduled for Monday 12th December ( time TBC). Mrs Cumming and I have chosen the script we want to use this year (Christmas with the Aliens)  and already the infants have been learning some songs. We’ll try and give out parts/roles this week 🙂 We’ll let you know in due course if your child has lines to learn or needs help with their costume.

Show and Tell – Week Two rota

Library – please hand back library books this week before our visit on Friday.

PE – Tuesday and Thursday

*Reminder – Monday 7th – Flu Vaccs*

A ‘Curriculum Evening’ is on Thursday – Safety and Internet Safety. The following morning (Friday), drop in from 9-9:30am to see a ‘safety’ lesson in P2 and other classes.
